5A10.1 Rods, Fur, Silk, and Electroscope

[Setup Time: 5 Min.] [Current Condition: Good]

Info

An image of the electroscope can be projected onto the screen using a light point source.

Setup Instructions

1. Rubber goes with fur, felt, or wool produce negative charge; silk goes with Lucite and glass to produce positive charge. There are several electroscopes. The one with no glass sides is easiest to project on the screen (or wall), but is most disturbed by air currents – If the air conditioning is on, use the one enclosed in glass.
